SONA

          The State of the Nation Address (SONA) was delivered at the Session Hall of the House of representatives, Batasan Pambansa Complex, Quezon City on July 23, 2012 by President Benigno Aquino III.

          The president discussed the focus of his administration in ending the culture of wang-wang.  Last year in his SONA, he again talked about wang-wang.  Is there a need for him to to repeat it again?  In a short period of time, can you achieve your target to the radiation of the backlog of 61.7 million textbook and the one-to-one ratio of books to students.  In our State Universities and Colleges, there is a very nice proposal of 48.61 percent increase in their budget next year, but the question is would they approve this nice proposal and can our country provide this big budget?  Remember that it is almost half of their budget in this year.  For me some of what he said is  not yet done but the best was about the PhilHealth. I have proven that this really helps the Filipinos because almost 1/4 of our hospital bill was reduced when my mother was operated.

         His SONA  this year is better than his SONA before.

 We celebrate the National Nutrition Month every July. The theme for this year’s celebration is "Pagkain ng Gulay Ugaliin, Araw-araw Itong Ihain".

     Eating vegetables is very important. It helps us to be healthy.  It’s not like the other foods like meat, crabs and shrimps that can cause us to have a high blood pressure. Vegetables are full of vitamins and minerals that help our body to fight diseases. It is also very affordable not like the other foods.  By simply planting vegetables to our backyard, we can already have foods to prepare and we are sure that is clean and fresh. Some of our foods today already have those toxic substances that can harm our body. If we prepare, there are so many recipes for as to use in order for us not to lost interest on it. We can also sometimes eat fish with vegetables, meat with vegetables. What is important is we have to give priority to the vegetables. It helps us to strong. What I notice is when I don’t eat vegetable, after a few hours or let’s just say two and half hours, I feel like I’m very hungry again. Eating vegetables also helps our farmers to increase their incomes.

Mr. President: 

               It was 2010 when you started ruling as the President of the Republic of the Philippines. It's been 2 years and I'm admiring you that in that 2 years, there are no issues to you about corruption. I hope sir that it is not yet too late to say thank you and congratulations. 

               Winning as the president is not only a big opportunity for you but it is also a big responsibility and challenge to your part. When the Filipino Citizens gave their support to you during the election, they were expecting that you will be able to help them kill the crisis that we are encountering. 

                "Kung walang corrupt, walang mahirap", that was a quote that I heard from you sir during your SONA and you have proven that you are doing all your best to kill corruption when the impeachment trial of Chief Justice Corona was done and when  you also launched the "Pera ng Bayan" website. It really helps the ordinary people like us to report any case about corruption in our local government unit. 

                The poverty, you are also trying to kill by supporting the distribution of contraceptives to poor couples. If you would be able to decrease the number of population in our country that would help you to be faster in solving the financial problem of our country. You have done a lot of programs in our country. 

                 I hope you are in good condition upon receiving my letter sir. May God bless you! Good luck in carrying out your duties as a president.
